The Precious Topaz by C. Renee review

For Louise Carter, life couldn’t be better. After escaping an abusive relationship, she’s returned home to her long-lost family and friends. She has the love and support of her parents, and best of all, she feels safe. When a dangerous intruder from her past arrives, threatening everything she holds dear, Louise must come to terms with her former life. Not an easy task, while trying to forge a future with her new and complicated flame, Alex.

Alex Knight has tremendous amount of weight on his shoulders to sort out. Family drama, a new career, and a paternity claim consumes him. His spotty relationship with Louise, and his constant need to protect her, certainly don’t make life any easier.

While trying to repair their rocky relationship and deal with the messy complications life has thrown their way, Alex and Louise must decide what really matters. Do they let their pasts consume them, or do they open their hearts and learn to love and trust one another?

This is book 2 and cannot be read as a standalone. these books need to be read in order.
When I read book 1 I really enjoyed it. Starting book 2 I didn't get into it as quickly as the first. It took some time in the beginning.
But I do have to say I was on the edge of my seat just waiting for the hated character to pop back up at anytime.
Louise and Alex grow closer and get hot for each other ;) but will Matt show back up and ruin it all? you have to read to find out for yourself. I don't spoil story's like that.
I look forward to the final book in this series to see how everything ends for these characters.
